Please take note of the following:
TRIP
1. Please pay (using school cash online) and give permission for your child to go to Young People's Theater on Oct. 8 (using EMA) if you haven't already done so. We will be leaving the school at 9 am to walk to the train to get to Toronto. Please ensure that your child is at school early on that day. Lunch and Snacks are needed for the excursion.
CLASSWORK
2. We are working on numbers less than 1 (tenths, hundredths and thousandths in math class as well as rounding decimals this week). Students are midway through writing their first math test on place value. Note: knowledgehook questions have been posted online to supplement work that is assigned in class. All students should have coding accounts on code.org. They are working on coding maps on this platform. In language, the book review is due this Thursday, Oct. 9 since there is no school for students on Friday, Oct. 10. In language, students wrote out list 2 which is posted in google classroom. Their land acknowledgements and biography of a classmate will go home this week. In Social Studies, grade 5 students looked at a map of the province of Ontario and its regions while the grade 6s are researching human rights. NOTE - we do have a new schedule and the grade 6 instrumental program should be starting shortly. The class took out library books last day 3. If they go home, they are due back on day 3 of our 5 day cycle.
