Please take note of the following:
CLASSWORK
1. Students will receive their decimal assessment back. We will work on reviewing our learning in fractions like ordering, comparing, writing fractions and have a test next week Oct. 28. The grade 5/6s are still correcting math work in their blue folders. Students are also coding twice a week in the mornings. In Social Studies, the grade 6s are learning about Canada and the United Nations. The Grade 5s are looking at indigenous ways of governing themselves. In Language, students have started their next assignment - What is a hero? We brainstormed ideas in class and co-created a piece of writing. This shared writing highlighted paragraph writing, an intro and conclusion as well as writing in complete sentences. I will be collecting the spelling story 2 on Monday. In Reading, we reviewed the book The Animal Leader and will be answering questions together in class next week. Penmanship will also resume. Students will be assigned week 5 next week. In Music, the grade 5s received the song, A Wish for Peace. We will present the song at an assembly on Oct. 28 in the primary/junior monthly assembly. Grade 5 students are encouraged to practice learning the song. It is posted in google classroom. The Grade 6s had their first class with the music itinerant teacher. They were assigned instruments and went through class expectations.
